Friday, March 07, 2003The Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors public hearing on the proposed Town of Chancellorsville will be moved forward from 3pm to 4:30pm at the Courtland High School auditorium. For those of you who reside outside the bounds of the Commonwealth, the proposed Town of Chancellorsville is a 2,000+ development that will be built on the edge of the Chancellorsville Battlefield. For more information on the project, Dogwood Development has a website for the proposed town, and the Central Virginia Battlefields Trust has a website with their listed concerns. The long and short of it all: good development, bad location, but it will get built anyway. If it doesn't, the property owner will simply build it to the maximum the current zoning allows. . . and that is the worst case scenario.
