How the White House Tracked the Terror Plot
Jaded JD preemptively speculated as to what connection there was between U.S. anti-terror efforts and uncovering of the transatlantic flight plot, and TIME articulates as to that exact connection.
Short answer: If this terror attack were planned in 2001, it would have succeeded.

I'm not saying that there is no nexus; I'm only saying that I don't see one. And I shouldn't see one if it is classified. But if it's classified, the other, credit-claiming bloggers can't see it either.
I'm not saying that Administration policies don't deserve credit; I'm only saying that I don't see why, from a neutral, objective perspective, one can conclude on the facts presently known that they do. So my comments are neither prejudiced towards nor against the Administration (and I don't think you're saying otherwise), so much as they are commentary on the content of other bloggers' posts and an inquiry into their prejudices.
