March for Life

Tens of thousands of people descend upon Washington D.C. On the 35th anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

Number of lines in the WaPo pre-gaming the March?

Zero.

In fact, if you read through the WaPo this morning, one would never know there was a March for Life this year.

Pathetic.

    Shaun,

Zero lines? How can that be.

I did a quick search and found this Article which mentions the march today.

    Nitpicking I know.

Of course I couldn’t find anything on the NY Times.

However the Washington times had an Article and Editorial

My first hometown Post Gazzete gave mention Editorial

My new hometown Free Lance Star had to assault Bush’s Judges

I was at the march in DC tuesday. I watched for an hour as the masses went by at a fairly brisk pace.

Doing some rough calculations of the width of the line (between 50 and 75 people) X the number of lines crossing me per minute (about 50-60), I made the attendance to be nearly 500,000 people!!

The press only reported “tens of thousands” at BEST, most just said “thousands” tonight! You had to be there- it was amazingly well attended this year!

Huh, Shaun? Washington Post, Jan. 23rd, page A3 – there was an article with a photo.

Ah, Shaun – I read the original post more c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y. I don’t recall seeing a “pre-game” piece, but really, I wouldn’t have expected much in the way of one anyway, and, I’m sure, nor would you.

The march is a regular, annual, peaceful, dignified protest. Other than listing traffic restrictions and street closures, I wouldn’t have expected much coverage in advance of it. When the march gets underway, it is news, and it seemed to be covered in various media.
