Shaun Kenney, 40, lives in Kents Store, Virginia.
Shaun received an early start in political activism by volunteering for and then running political campaigns for candidates at virtually every level of government. His political experience began working for then-Virginia Governor George Allen in the mid-1990s, followed by a series of mid-level campaigns. By 2000, Shaun was highly active in the effort to create the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives through The Empowerment Network and EDTEC, Inc, working inside America’s inner cities promoting entrepreneurship and individual opportunity.
In 2006 he successfully ran the campaign of Rep. Marilyn Musgrave in a three way race, and in 2007 served as communications director for the Republican Party of Virginia under Chairman Ed Gillespie and Chairman John H. Hager. From 2008 to 2010, Kenney served as executive director of American Life League, the largest Catholic pro-life organization in the country representing some 300,000 families. In 2011, Kenney was named one of “Virginia’s Top Influencers” by Campaign & Elections Magazine. Kenney served as Supervisor for the Columbia District for a four year term from 2010 to 2013, and for two years as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors in Fluvanna County, Virginia. Kenney returned to the Republican Party of Virginia in 2014 as executive director under Chairman Pat Mullins.
Kenney currently serves as a principal for K6 Consulting Group, LLC headquartered in Richmond, Virginia that specializes in fundraising and development, political and capital campaign management, social media performance, and crisis communications.
Shaun has appeared as a guest on ABC News, CBS News, Fox News, NPR and the BBC; and his work has been featured in USA Today, The Guardian, Roll Call, The Hill, Politico, Townhall, RedState, Washington Post, The Washington Times, Breitbart News, Ethika Politika, Time Magazine and the Denver Post.
Kenney is also the co-founder of both the Jeffersoniad Blog Alliance and Red Storm PAC, both focusing on social media campaigns within Virginia. Previous non-political professional experience includes working as an analyst with several members of the defense industry and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
