ShaunKenney.com is one of Virginia’s oldest political blogs, focusing on the role of religion and politics in public life. Shaun Kenney, 31, lives in Fluvanna County, Virginia and is the Supervisor for the Columbia District of Fluvanna County, Virginia.
Shaun received an early start in political activism by volunteering for and then running political campaigns for candidates at virtually every level of government. His political experience began working for then-Virginia Governor George Allen in the mid-1990s, followed by a series of mid-level campaigns. By 2000, Shaun was highly active in the effort to create the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives through The Empowerment Network and EDTEC, Inc, working inside America’s inner cities promoting entrepreneurship and individual opportunity. In 2006 he successfully ran the campaign of Rep. Marilyn Musgrave in a three way race, and in 2007 served as communications director for the Republican Party of Virginia under Chairman Ed Gillespie and Chairman John H. Hager.
Shaun has appeared as a guest on ABC News, CBS News, Fox News, NPR and BBC; and his work has been featured in USA Today, The Guardian, Roll Call, The Hill, Politico, Townhall, RedState, Washington Post, The Washington Times, Time Magazine and the Denver Post.
Kenney is also the co-founder of both the Jeffersoniad Blog Alliance and Red Storm PAC, both focusing on social media campaigns within Virginia. Previous professional experience includes working as an analyst with several members of the defense industry and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Shaun is a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, married to his wonderful wife Melissa, and has five children. Shaun currently attends St. Joseph Catholic Church in Columbia, Virginia.
