I want this for Christmas!

The Mother of All Bombs (MOAB) was tested in Florida this afternoon. KABOOOM!

The test run for the 21,000-pound explosive, officially known as the Massive Ordnance Air Blast, or MOAB, was declared a success. Unofficially, the weapon has come to be known as the Mother of all Bombs, a reference to Saddam Hussein’s claim before the 1991 Gulf War that that conflict would be the “mother of all battles.”

Interestingly enough, the article states there really wasn’t that much of a ‘boom’ afterwards, which may lead one to believe that it didn’t detonate successfully. Don’t worry. . . the Air Force took pictures that will be released to the press shortly.
