15-year old Elizabeth Smart found

Elizabeth Smart is the 15 year old girl from Utah who was abducted from her parents nine months ago. Police have taken a homeless street preacher by the name of Emmanuel into custody:

Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped on June 5, 2002 by a gun-wielding lone male intruder from her bedroom while her little sister pretended to sleep in the same room.

She was found in a car driven by Mitchell, known to the Smart family as a street preacher named “Emmanuel,” who had worked for one day as a handyman at their home, police said.

The only person police have identified as a suspect in the kidnapping is Richard Ricci. Ricci, a handyman, worked for the Smarts and knew the home layout well. Ricci died in jail last August and claimed all along he was innocent.
